Beware what stalks you in the night

Meet Ciara Wood - the main character of my novel, and a young werewolf in the becoming. She looks quite smug on that picture with that shining golden wolf-ish eye and that sarcastic smile - actually, her new state brings her more worries and angst than excitement, so much she'd do anything to rid of the "curse".

It's the first picture I drew of her, based on a really ugly sketch I made on a lined notepad with a biro during class.

For the background, I merged 2 different photos - one showing a full moon and one of a street in Derry, the town I currently live in, after I tweaked and darkened them with Photoshop.

I first made an all coloured version of the picture with a dark blue background, then tried to create a "Sin City" effect by making it all black and white, save for the red hoodie and the golden wolf eye. As you may have guessed, I preferred this version.

Expect to see more of her and my other characters in the future...
