My first attempt at adapting Red Hot Moon (the urban fantasy novel I'm currently working on) into a graphic novel - and the first comic page I've ever done !
It was actually quite fun to do. I must admit I had to cheat with the first panel (which is a stock photo retouched with Photoshop) in order to save time. The second panel has a tribute to the Halloween festival in Derry, where even grown-ups go around in the streets wearing costumes. The werewolf in the third panel was drawn after a Halloween mask - since it's in a movie, I wanted it to look caricatural. The limited choice of colours and strong black/white contrasts are a tribute to the Sin City comics, which I've tried to emulate with these pages. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
